As a member of the Hungarian Rectors' Conference, Tamás Sterbenz, the Hungarian University of Sports Science’s (HUSS) Rector visited the capital of Egypt, Cairo with colleagues to learn about the country's education system.

Professor Tamás Sterbenz, Rector of the Hungarian University of Sports Science (HUSS) spent a couple of days in Havana as a member of the Hungarian Rectors' Conference. He met with the heads of the Cuban Olympic Committee alongside some representatives of the local sports university, and he also won a game of chess at the sports university.

Piroska Csuri, a lecturer at the National University of February 3 in Buenos Aires (UNTREF), recently visited the Hungarian University of Sports Science (HUSS).

A rectors' meeting aiming to bring together Hungarian and Argentinian universities was held in Buenos Aires, Argentina between 13 and 17 November. The event was attended by Professor Tamás Sterbenz, Rector of the Hungarian University of Sports Science.

Former Olympic and World champion long-distance runner, President of the  Ethiopian Athletics Federations (EAF), Derartu Tulu visited HUSS to sign a two-year cooperation agreement between the two institutions.

On 10 May, two newly announced honorary doctors’, namely that of Dr Li Li Ji’s and Dr Scott Powers’s name was inscribed on the marble plaque to be found at the Hungarian University of Sports Science (HUSS).

A full-day workshop in English including foreign experts was held in the Rome room of the Hungarian University of Sports Sciences on Tuesday within the framework of the project titled ’Ensuring Quality Digital Higher Education in Hungary’.

Three prominent personalities of the Hungarian University of Sports Sciences (HUSS), Dr habil. Márta Szmodis, Dr habil. Tamás Sterbenz and Dr habil. László Tóth have been appointed as university professors.

The Hungarian University of Sports Sciences (HUSS), the National Handball Academy (NHA) and the Handball-Specific Methodology Centre held the 5th Sport and Innovation Conference between 14 and 16 September 2022. The joint sports science event focussed on the issue of talent and performance.

The list of competitors representing the Hungarian University of Sports Science (HUSS) at the European University Games (EUG) in Lodz has been finalised. Recently the University of Physical Education has hosted a special event organized by the Hungarian Embassy in the Philippines. The University of Physical Education welcomed seventy Philippine students studying in Hungary at this unique “Alumni Event”.

Dr. habil. Tamás Sterbenz ceremoniously received his mandate as rector of the University of Physical Education from President of Hungary János Áder in the Sándor Palace. According to the decision of the President, the appointment of the new rector lasts for 5 years, taking effect from 1st October, 2021.

Dr. Tamás Sterbenz, the newly elected rector of University of Physical Education of Budapest has ambitious plans. In his view, UPE will need to “change gear” and become an influential actor in the field of higher education.
