Deepening HUSS–Shanghai Lixin University Relations in Sports Science

A delegation from Shanghai Lixin University of Accounting and Finance visited the Hungarian University of Sports Science (HUSS) to strengthen their cooperation in sports science and coaching programmes. During the meetings, HUSS Rector Tamás Sterbenz and International Director Denissza Blanár welcomed the members of the Chinese delegation.

The collaboration between HUSS and Lixin University aims to allow Chinese students to participate in HUSS’s sports science, sports management, and coaching programmes, while Hungarian coaches can share their expertise on Chinese campuses. The Shanghai delegation including Vice President Liu Yongqin; Director, Finance Office Du Li; Dean, School of Finance and Public Administration Zhang Yiqiang; Dean, School of Physical Education and Health Qin Man; Deputy Director, International Office Shen Yuehong also presented the achievements and international sports activities of the university’s School of Physical Education and Health Sciences.

HUSS’s educational offerings have expanded significantly in recent years: English-language Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes, a Master’s degree programme in Sports Diplomacy, and the Doctoral School are available for international students, along with 50 English-language courses. Additionally, the International Coaching Course is offered twice a year at HUSS. Rector Tamás Sterbenz emphasized HUSS’s close relationships with international sports federations, including the International Olympic Committee.

As a result of the meetings, several joint programmes were outlined: HUSS coaches may work at Lixin University, while Chinese fencers can gain practical experience in Budapest, and Chinese students may participate in HUSS’s Sports Science and Coaching programmes, particularly in fencing and water sports. The collaboration thus mutually enhances the educational and athletic opportunities of both institutions.
