The Fourth Joint “Teaching Excellence Program” of the Hungarian University of Sports Science and the University of New Mexico Has Been Completed by Our Colleagues.

On January 26, 2023, Professor John Barnes, Professor at the Department of Sport Administration of the University of New Mexico, arrived at our university. Professor Barnes came to Budapest as part of the Fulbright scholarship program and spends the entire spring semester at the Hungarian University of Sports Science, working for the Sport Management Department.

From 14 to 17 November, 2022, a four-day workshop and roundtable discussion in English was held at the Hungarian University of Sports Science (HUSS) by Paul Edmunds, Professor at the University of New Mexico (UNM), Director of the Centre for English Language and American Culture at UNM.

The International Relations Center of the Hungarian University of Sports Science (HUSS) offers Dr Paul Edmunds’ Business English Workshop at the university again this year.

As it is reported by news.unm.edu, John Barnes, professor of Sports Administration at The University of New Mexico (UNM), will spend the spring 2023 semester at the Hungarian University of Sports Science (HUSS) on a Fulbright Scholarship. He will complete research and teach classes on leadership in collegiate sport.

The third 3-week Teaching Excellence Program has been successfully completed in collaboration with the University of New Mexico in online form in July. The main goal of the program is to develop the professional and intercultural skills of  UPE faculties who will play a key role in the internationalization of UPE in connection with future full-time and part-time courses in English.

The UPE International Relation Center conducted a short interview with Dr. János Tóth Jr., Asistant professor at the University of Physical Education, who recently returned from Albuquerque, USA, where, among many others, he gained experience in his own field.

This year, the highly successful three-week UPE Complex Education Language and Intercultural Faculty Immersion Program was organized in collaboration with the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, USA.

A short summer training was held for the second time for UPE instructors, researchers and administrative staff by Dr. Paul Edmunds, Director of the University of New Mexico Language Department (CELAC).

The first US 3-week faculty enrichment program at the University of New Mexico has been successfully completed in June, 2019 in Albuquerque, NM. Dr. Judit Kádár, Fulbright alumna of the UNM has shared with her colleagues at the Sports University of Budapest some opportunities that could enrich their professional and intercultural skills, while experiencing a wonderful intercultural environment and enjoying New Mexico. At the same time, she also wished to share new opportunities available for all members of the UNM community.

Dr. Tamás Sterbenz, Vice rector for general affairs and Dr. Judit Kádár, Director of the International Relations Center, visited the University of New Mexico in October.
