The 45th Chess Olympiad was held at the BOK Sports Hall, Budapest, between 11 and 22 September. Enthusiastic volunteers of the Hungarian University of Sports Science (TF) had a major role in helping the tournament run smoothly.

Chess player Zsuzsanna Terbe, who graduated at the Hungarian University of Sports Science (TF), remained unbeaten at the 2024 Budapest Chess Olympiad.

The work of the volunteers of the 45th Chess Olympiad taking place in Budapest is coordinated by the Volunteer and Sustainability Office of the Hungarian University of Sports Science (TF).

A joint international scientific meeting organised by the Hungarian University of Sports Science (TF) and the Hungarian Chess Federation was held at the university on Monday with the participation of chess enthusiasts and those interested in chess.

The training of the volunteers who will participate in the 45th Chess Olympiad that will take place in Budapest between 10 and 23 September went very well last Saturday at the Hungarian University of Sports Sciences.

The conference titled "Chess and Sports Science", a joint event of the Hungarian University of Sports Science (TF) and the Hungarian Chess Federation, will be held on 9 September at TF.

Attendees of the event can participate in exiting online sport activities at the 2020 FISU World Forum. Organisers plan to put Fifa 20 and a digital chess championship on stage at FISU’s first online Forum. 

The best female player of chess history, who holds the highest Hungarian state honour, the Magyar Szent István Order (Hungarian Order of Saint Stephen), has received an honorary doctorate from of the University of Physical Education (UPE) as decided by the University Senate on Thursday. Judit Polgár becomes the 45th person to hold a degree of the kind awarded by UPE.
