As part of its centenary celebrations, the Hungarian University of Sports Science (HUSS) will host an international summer camp on campus between 21 and 26 June, 2025. The event will bring together leading experts from around the globe and a diverse group of participants for a week of intensive learning and scientific exchange.
The summer camp’s programme focuses on highly relevant research areas, including Exercise and Epigenetics, Skeletal Muscle Aging, Mitochondrial Morphology, the Mitochondrial Life Cycle, Limits of VO₂ max, and Exercise-Induced Oxidative Stress. These topics are at the forefront of current sports science and aging research and will be presented by renowned international scholars.
Lecturers include Professor Scott Powers, well-known for his pioneering work in exercise physiology; Professor Li Li Ji, a leading authority in muscle physiology; Professor David Hood from York University in Toronto, founder of the Muscle Health Research Centre; and Professor Zsolt Radak, Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation at HUSS, and a leading expert on oxidative stress, hormesis, and DNA methylation in aging.
A total of 26 participants have registered for this year’s event, including seven online attendees. The camp has attracted researchers and students from China, India, Japan, Taiwan, Brazil, Albania, Kenya, Indonesia, Romania, and Hungary, including several doctoral students from HUSS.
The programme offers an excellent opportunity for early-career researchers and PhD students to gain direct insight from some of the world’s foremost experts, discuss the latest developments in the field, and build new international networks.
