At the 2024 American Physiology Summit to be organised in Long Beach in April, researchers from the Hungarian University of Sports Science will present topics closely related to elite sport.

In a significant step towards fostering international cooperation and academic collaboration, a delegation from Brigham Young University (BYU), Utah, USA have recently visited the Hungarian University of Sports Science (HUSS). The visit aimed to continue research with HUSS Department of Health Sciences and Sport Medicine and lay the groundwork for future partnership between the two prestigious institutions.

On Wednesday 22 February, members of the US Marines visited the Hungarian University of Sports Science to give students, teachers and staff a good workout in the university assembly hall. The event was organised by the university’s Sports Exam’s Office.

The Sports Examination Centre of the Hungarian University of Sports Science organised a diplomatic simulation game in English on Monday 14 November. The 90-minute event was sponsored by the US Embassy in Hungary through a grant.

Using his knowledge and experience gained in the United States, Gábor Farkas, assistant professor at the Department of Combat Sports at the Hungarian University of Sports Sciences (HUSS), is trying to raise the level of freestyle wrestling education to an even higher level.

The UPE International Relation Center conducted a short interview with Dr. János Tóth Jr., Asistant professor at the University of Physical Education, who recently returned from Albuquerque, USA, where, among many others, he gained experience in his own field.

This year, the highly successful three-week UPE Complex Education Language and Intercultural Faculty Immersion Program was organized in collaboration with the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, USA.

For the first time, Hungary was represented in the United States at a six-week Global Sport Mentoring Program jointly organized by the US Department of State, ESPN Sports TV Channel and the University of Tennessee. In addition to the organizers, the program is sponsored by major American corporations such as Google, Saatchi & Saatchi and New Balance. Upon the offer of the US Embassy of Budapest, the International Relations Center has nominated a candidate who successfully applied.

The first US 3-week faculty enrichment program at the University of New Mexico has been successfully completed in June, 2019 in Albuquerque, NM. Dr. Judit Kádár, Fulbright alumna of the UNM has shared with her colleagues at the Sports University of Budapest some opportunities that could enrich their professional and intercultural skills, while experiencing a wonderful intercultural environment and enjoying New Mexico. At the same time, she also wished to share new opportunities available for all members of the UNM community.

UPE Delagation’s Visit in Southwestern United StatesThe representatives of the University of Physical Education, Budapest, namely Prof h.c. Lajos MOCSAI, Rector, Dr. habil Zsombor LACZA, Scientific Vice rector and Dr. habil Judit KADAR, Director of International Relations visited several sports related institutions in Southwestern United States.

Dr. Judit Kadar, Head of the International Relations Directorate of UPE has visited Coastal Carolina University last week. Beyond the introduction of both universities and the sports related units, a collaboration agreement has been elaborated with the help of Dr. Darla Domke-Damonte, Associate provost (Centre for Global Engagement).

The International Relations Center have had the pleasure to welcome Dr. Susan J. Bandy, an earlier guest lecturer to our university (1997-1999) from Ohio State University, USA, accompanied by our professor, Dr. Katalin Szikora, colleague of the Social Sciences Department.

Dr. Tamás Sterbenz, Vice rector for general affairs and Dr. Judit Kádár, Director of the International Relations Center, visited the University of New Mexico in October.
