Student Mentor

The Directorate of Educational Affairs of the Hungarian University of Sports Science (HUSS) hereby announces a Student Mentoring Programme for all students of HUSS.

The Student Mentoring Programme aims to support students in challenging courses through peer-to-peer academic mentoring. We are inviting students to apply as mentors and help their peers improve their academic performance, successfully complete their courses, and progress towards obtaining their degree, with particular attention to students from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Students can achieve better academic performance with the support of a student mentor. Student mentoring offers numerous benefits for both mentors and mentees. Apart from developing skills through collaborative work, the programme helps students engage with the University, strengthen interpersonal relationships, and develop a supportive attitude. Furthermore, it contributes to the development of skills such as empathy, ethical thinking, and conflict management.

Student mentors are selected through a competition held each semester. Students who wish to participate as mentees can contact the selected mentors directly without going through a selection process. The selected mentors will be announced at the end of September.

Application for mentors

If you feel that you have mastered certain courses during your university studies, possess comprehensive knowledge necessary for the successful completion of a given subject, and are motivated to use your knowledge to support and help fellow students catch up, do not hesitate to apply!

If you would be happy to provide tutoring in any of the subjects indicated in the Application Form, we would be delighted to welcome you among the University’s student mentors. The subjects were selected based on experiences from recent years; however, if the subject(s) in which you feel particularly confident are not included in the list, our students would of course also welcome your help and support in those areas.

The monthly scholarship for mentors participating in the catch-up programme ranges from HUF 25,000 to 35,000, depending on performance.

More detailed information about the programme and the scholarship can be found below in the Call for Applications and the Application Guidelines, or you may visit us in person at the University, K1 Building, Office A111.

For the I. semester of the 2026/2027 academic year, the application deadline is 18 September 2026.

Applications must be submitted in person to the Directorate of Educational Affairs (K1 Building, Office A111).
