The U23 European Boxing Championships were held in Budapest from November 19–30, 2025, where the contribution of volunteers was highly appreciated by all participants. The volunteer program, organized by the Volunteer and Sustainability Office, played a significant role in ensuring the smooth running of the continental event.

The competition’s technical delegate also emphasized: “Such a level of organization and such a well-prepared, enthusiastic volunteer team is rarely seen across Europe,” adding that he had participated in numerous international events, but the Budapest program was particularly outstanding.

Volunteers played an important role in several areas: they assisted with the accreditation process, supported the operations of the media center, participated in sports presentations and event management, and helped at the accommodation information desk and entry points. Their contribution ensured that athletes, coaches, official delegations, and spectators all had a positive experience at the championship.

Based on feedback received during the event, volunteers participated in a well-organized program featuring exciting and meaningful tasks. Several highlighted that meeting István “Kokó” Kovács, the president of the federation, was a special experience, as he personally spoke with volunteers multiple times during the championship and thanked them for their help.

The success of the event clearly demonstrated the tremendous value a dedicated volunteer community brings to an international sports event. “We are very grateful and also proud of our volunteers; all we can do is express our thanks,” said Szilvia Perényi, head of the Volunteer and Sustainability Office.
