Kayaker Dorka Gazsó returned home with two medals from the Paris Olympics, and we will continue her studies at the Hungarian University of Sports Science (TF).
At the Paris Olympics, we saw a sensational performance by kayak champion Dorka Gazsó, who attends the BA coaching course at the Hungarian University of Sports Science (TF). She won a silver medal and a bronze medal in women’s K-2 500m and K-4 500m, respectively.
She has also won different medals at World and European Championships in the 1000-metre discipline, however, this is not an Olympic event. Therefore she knows she needs to focus on the 500-metre discipline in the future.
She also explained why she was successful at the Paris Olympics.
"We have developed a fantastic relationship with the girls in the national team, which has been the basis for the success of the K-2 and K-4 disciplines. To be able to be successful, we have to be very attentive to each other, to be coordinated, and we instinctively have the desire to prove ourselves to the others. In K-1, however, I can only rely on myself, and yes, I really want to show what I can do."
Dorka is confirmed that her sporting career is far from being completed.
“How long am I going to do it for? I have no idea, but I am sure I will not stop after such a good Olympic performance. I'll keep competing as long as I enjoy it and don't feel like going to training. When that moment comes, I'll stop."
As for the near future, she has a lot to make up for.
"Our schedule has been extremely tight lately because of training camps, I hardly saw my loved ones. So the priority now is to keep the family together and I'm still figuring out where to go on holiday. Moreover, the university academic year is to begin soon, and now that the competition season is over, I'll try to visit lessons more often, because I've chosen a very good university.”
