Two students from the Hungarian University of Sports Science (HUSS) also took part in the Milan–Cortina Winter Olympics, where they supported the Hungarian team as members of the professional staff, helping Hungarian athletes achieve the best possible results.
Renátó Halycsik, a third-year student at the Department of Recreation, was a member of the professional staff of the Hungarian team at the 2026 Winter Olympics. As a team masseur, he supported the athletes’ preparation and competition performance. He carried out his duties in the Olympic Village in Predazzo, where he assisted members of the Hungarian cross-country skiing team in performing their best.
As he put it, the Olympic Games — the world’s largest international sporting event — was a tremendous honour for him. As a sports professional, it was a truly special experience to be part of the event and to represent his country as well as the Hungarian cross-country skiers.
Zsuzsanna Kercsó-Magos, a first-year BA student in Cycling Coaching, has been working with the Hungarian short track speed skating Olympic squad since 2017. The 2026 Winter Olympic Games marked her first Olympics that she was able to attend in person: she supported the national team as team leader and video technician of the short track speed skating squad.
Her responsibilities as team leader included coordinating organizational tasks prior to the Olympic Games, and on site she was in charge of managing the daily operations. As a video technician, she recorded training sessions and competitions, and the footage later supported professional performance analysis.
