TF's rower Zoltána Gadányi wins two gold medals at the European Universities Championships

The Hungarian University of Sports Science’s (TF) student Zoltána Gadányi won a gold medal in the single and double scull, respectively, at the European Universities Championships.

The European University Rowing Championships were held in the capital of Croatia, Zagreb between 29 and 31 August. The Hungarian University of Sports Science (TF) was one the Hungarian universities that were present at the event.

Hungary achieved brilliant results by winning five gold, two silver and four bronze medals, thus finishing at the top of the medal table ahead of Germany. Regrading the ranking of the universities, TF finished third by winning two gold medals.

The two TF gold medals were won by Zoltána Gadányi in the normal weight single sculls and by the duet of Zoltána Gadányi and Dóra Polivka in the normal weight double sculls competition. Gadányi and Polivka beat their main opponent by almost four seconds in the double scull race.

The Hungarian Rowing Federation places great emphasis on university rowing and its development, which is proved by the fact that the European University Rowing Championships will be held on Lake Venice, Hungary in 2027.
