Prof. Muhammad Lee Chee Feng, CEO of the Asia College of Exercise Medicine in Malaysia, collected his honorary doctorate degree on the opening day of the 24th International Scientific Students' Conference currently held at the Hungarian University of Sports Science, Budapest.
At the Senate meeting held on Thursday, 28 September 2023 at the Hungarian University of Sports Science (HUSS), it was decided that an honorary doctorate title will be awarded to Prof. Muhammad Lee Chee Pheng.
Prof. Lee Chee Pheng received his Ph.D. in Sports Sciences in 2003. He earned his master’s degrees from Semmelweis University, Budapest, Hungary. His bachelors in Sports Science from the Hungarian University of Physical Education, Budapest, Hungary. He previously worked at the Hungarian University of Sports Science (HUSS) and lived in Hungary for nearly 30 years.
The honorary doctorate ceremony was attended by Prof. Tamás Sterbenz, HUSS’s Rector, Prof. h. c. Lajos Mocsai, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation for the University of Physical Education, Prof. Zsolt Radák, Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation, and Dr Csaba Ökrös, Vice-Rector General.
A speech was held by Zsolt Radák, Tamás Sterbenz, Prof. István Berkes, HUSS’s Professor Emeritus and Lee Chee Feng.
Lee Chee Feng first thanked all those who have helped to shape his academic career, and then he revealed that he has spent half of his life in Hungary, and during this time he has had plenty of time to get to know the Hungarian people and the country's leading sports science institution, HUSS.
"Having received this honorary doctorate degree, the university has recognised that I am one of the best experts in the field of sports science, and I am extremely grateful to you. This gives me the strength to continue my work with even greater enthusiasm," Lee Chee Feng concluded.
At the end of the ceremony, Li Chi Feng, Zsolt Radák, Tamás Sterbenz and Lajos Mocsai unveiled the marble plaque containing the names of the honorary doctors of HUSS, including that of Lee Chee Feng.
