The 31st Annual Congress of the European College of Sport Science (ECSS) was held in Lausanne, Switzerland, from 6 to 10 July 2026. At one of the world's leading international conferences in sport science, several faculty members, researchers, and PhD students from Hungarian University of Sports Science (HUSS) presented their work through oral presentations and poster sessions, further strengthening the University's international scientific presence.

Compared to last year, interest in universities grew not only nationwide, but more people also wanted to get into Hungarian University of Sports Science (HUSS). In fact, 1,182 first-year students will start the 2026/2027 academic year at HUSS, setting a new admissions record.

Eszter Bara, a staff member of the Library and Archives at Hungarian University of Sports Science (HUSS), represented the university as a member of the Hungarian women's sitting volleyball national team at the World Para Volleyball Championship held in Hangzhou, China.

Hungarian University of Sports Science (HUSS) received a prestigious award at the ceremony hosted by the European University Sports Association (EUSA). The award was accepted on behalf of the university by Rector Tamás Sterbenz in recognition of HUSS finishing first in the overall medal standings at last year's European Universities Championships.

For the first time, the Tour de Mátra hosted a qualifying event for the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) Gran Fondo World Series Amateur World Championships. The event was supported by 80 volunteers coordinated by Hungarian University of Sports Science (HUSS).

Dr Andras Hegyi and Dr Annamaria Peter, scientific staff members of the Department of Kinesiology, represented Hungarian University of Sports Science (HUSS) at the ISEK conference, where they gave presentations and expanded their professional network.

One of Hungarian University of Sports Science's (HUSS) key strategic partners, the President (Rector) of National Taiwan Sport University (NTSU), Professor Ping-Kun Chiu, visited HUSS, where he met with HUSS Rector Professor Tamás Sterbenz and Vice President for Scientific Affairs Professor Zsolt Radák, to agree on the launch of a double-degree programme.

The 2026 joint conference of the European Association for Sociology of Sport (EASS) and the International Sociology of Sport Association (ISSA) concluded successfully in Jyväskylä, with strong HUSS presence.

Hungarian University of Sports Science (TF) and Azerbaijan Sports Academy (ASA) held talks on expanding their cooperation in education and research.

The HUSS is becoming an increasingly influential player in the international sports science community, as demonstrated by the fact that it was represented by a five-member delegation at a leading European forum for sports history research in Rouen.
