• Current and former TF students receive award at the 2024 Athlete of the Year Gala

    Several former and current students of the Hungarian University of Sports Science (TF) were awarded at yesterday's 2024 Athlete of the Year Gala partly sponsored by the university, where the best coach award was presented by Chairman of the Board of Trustees Lajos Mocsai and Rector Tamás Sterbenz.

  • Chinese Sports Minister visits Hungarian Olympic Committee

    A high-level governmental and sports diplomacy meeting was organised at the headquarters of the Hungarian Olympic Committee with the participation of the Hungarian University of Sports Science (TF) led by Chinese Sports Minister Gao Zhidan, President of the Chinese Olympic Committee.

  • EUC Volleyball coming to Budapest in 2025

    The city of Budapest, the Hungarian University of Sports Science and its sports club TFSE will host the European Universities Volleyball Championship in 2025. The event will take place from 27 July to 3 August.

Aleksandr Vlasenko, a 20-year-old student of the Hungarian University of Sports Science (TF), fought his way into the final with an excellent program and we can cheer him on again on Saturday.

The EASM2025 conference titled “Sustainability in Sports Management” will be held in Budapest between 2 and 5 September. The event will be hosted by Hungarian University of Sports Science (TF), which is to celebrate its 100th anniversary next year. The large-scale event, which is expected to attract 500 participants, is a joint event of the university and the European Association for Sports Management (EASM).

# World Athletics Championships

Newly elected Hungarian member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Dr Balázs Fürjes visited the Hungarian University of Sports Science (HUSS) on 23 November to hold a lecture for the university’s undergraduate sports management students.

Volunteers of the 2023 World Athletics Championships held in Budapest in August expressed their gratitude to World Athletics (WA) President Sebastian Coe and the new Hungarian permanent member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Dr Balázs Fürjes.

Two-time Olympic champion middle-distance runner, World Athletics President, Loughborough University Chancellor Lord Sebastian Coe was awarded the honorary doctorate title at the Hungarian University of Sports Science on 10 November.

The film about the Hungarian University of Sports Science’s volunteers, who received the Fair Play Award for their role in the 2023 World Athletics Championships in Budapest, has been released.

The volunteers of the 2023 World Athletics Championships in Budapest were nominated for the International Fair Play Award by Balázs Fürjes, co-chair of the event's organising committee, together with Sebastian Coe, President of World Athletics for their dedicated and persistent voluntary contribution.

Thursday 24th August saw Volunteers' Day at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest. The young people, and not only them, had a wonderful experience.

President of the World Athletics (WA) Sebastian Coe visited the Hungarian University of Sports Science on Thursday. He spoke about the responsibilities of coaches, the beauty and difficulties of the profession and, of course, the World Athletics Championships in Budapest.

Founder of the technique of microStretching and Stretch Therapy, and currently consulting for the Hungarian Athletics Federation, Dr Nikos C. Apostolopoulos spoke about stretching and its importance as a tool for proper recovery and regeneration, at the Hungarian University of Sports Science (HUSS).

On 19 August, the most eagerly awaited event of the year, the 2023 World Athletics Championships in Budapest officially began. The first day's evening programme kicked off with a grand opening, where Youhuu, the event's mascot, once again entertained the crowd.

As the 2023 IAAF World Athletics Championships in Budapest is approaching, it is important not only for the athletes but also for the volunteers involved in the event to prepare themselves physically and mentally for the competition.

Let it all begin. Volunteers who performed brilliantly at this year's national athletics championships are ready for the big task ahead awaiting the 2023 IAAF World Athletics Championships to be held in Budapest from 19 to 27 August.

Hungarian athletes can now compete at the National Athletics Centre that will host the national championships on 7 and 8 July. More than 300 volunteers trained by HUSS will do their best to make the test event a success.

Old Hungarian records in athletics are being broken one after another, however, the big question is how long HUSS teacher László Szalma's long jump record will survive.

The Family Opening Day of the National Athletics Centre and the Recreation Park was held on 17 June, opening the gates of Budapest's new athletics stadium to the public.
