On 22 August, in parallel with the World Athletics Championships to take place in Budapest, the World Athletics will hold an international scientific and medical conference at the Hungarian University of Sports Science.
The Athens Hall of the Hungarian University of Sports Science (HUSS) will host a prestigious international event on Tuesday, 22 August. The World Athletics is to hold its scientific and medical conference, which will feature presentations by a number of international experts - all during the World Athletics Championships, which will take place in Budapest from 19 to 27 August.
The half-day event, which runs from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm, will cover topics such as the relationship between cardiology and athletics, EBM diagnosis and management of acute muscle injuries, and new insights into heat stroke and acclimatization.
The short communications section will also feature exciting presentations lasting just a quarter of an hour such as „Health literacy among elite runners in tarck and field.”
At the event, HUSS Rector Professor Tamás Sterbenz, Professor Miklós Tóth, Head of the Department of Health Sciences and Sports Medicine will welcome the guests.

As known, HUSS has undertaken to train the volunteer coordinators of the Budapest 2023 World Athletics Championships, the university's Csörsz Street facility will be one of the training venues for the World Championships during the event.
Last but not least, professional coaches from the world of athletics are to gather around for the Coaches' Club's daily events at the university campus every afternoon from 2.30 pm until 4.30 pm. Within the frame of the Coaches' Club, a two-day symposium will also be held on morning of 21 and 22 August.
