The University of Physical Education (UPE) has been honored to host a delegation from one of the most distinguished higher education institutions in Japan: Waseda University, Tokyo. The parties conducted some consultations with focus on a professional cooperation they intend to establish in the near future. The representatives of the two universities have shared their presentations about the institutions, calling attention to their strength and aspirations.

Prof. Dr. h. c. Lajos Mocsai, Rector outlined the details of the current campus development project and emphasized that the knowledge base of the University of Physical Education could contribute to a mutually fruitful cooperation. First of all, a feasible opportunity can be realized in the area of exchanging students, educators and coaches, while the Doctoral School can profit from this cooperation in the research of sport science. Prof. Dr. Zsolt Radák, Head of the Doctoral School of UPE and Prof. Dr. József Tihanyi, Chairman of the Doctoral Council, discussed this issue with members of the delegation. Dr. Tamás Sterbenz, Vice rector of the General Affairs, also marked some other possibilities in the fields of decision making and sports management. Dr. Judit Kádár, Director of the International Relations Center has suggested exploring the possibility of establishing a joint training program in coaching as larger and long-term plan.

In conclusion, the participants agreed to settle the initiative in the near future. The delegation and Waseda University have been invited to the 2. Sport and Innovation International Conference to be held in May in Budapest.
