A multiball cup was organised for the women at the Hungarian University of Sports Science, Budapest. During this year's European Week of Sport (EWoS), sport and physical activity were celebrated across the continent and beyond through a series of events.
To mark the occasion, coordinators of the Erasmus+ project titled Leveraging Sports for Women Empowerment (Less4More) Andrea Gál, Judit Farkas and the recreation-lifestyle students organised a multi-ball cup for female participants including international scholarship students from Asia.
Of course, our colleagues who successfully represented our university in project meeting in July in Kavala, Greece, at one of the stages of the international championship series, also took part in the cup. The football and catchball matches were played on three parallel courts in a specially equipped tent, with six teams competing in a round robin system.
In a truly recreational event, the emphasis was more on team spirit than goals or points won. It was a pleasure to see the participants playing together in a joyful atmosphere. During the results ceremony, the organisers awarded not only medals but also special prizes and all participants received a voucher.
Similar events are planned for the future, as the project aims to involve as many women as possible until the summer of 2025 and beyond.
