NETRISK Sport and Innovation Conference programme is taking shape

The programme of the NETRISK Sport and Innovation Conference programme to be held between 14 and 17 October is taking shape. The event, which is organised by the National Handball Academy (NEKA) and the Hungarian University of Sports Science (TF), will focus on the lessons learned at the Paris Olympic Games as well as the link between sport and sustainability.

The seventh edition of the NETRISK Sports and Innovation Conference will take place between 14 and 17 October, 2024. The sports science event is hosted and organised by the National Handball Academy (NEKA) and the Hungarian University of Sports Science (TF) that will celebrate its 100th anniversary next year.

The pre-event of the conference will take place at 11:00 am on 10 October when a press conference will be held at TF. The press conference will be accompanied by the opening of a very interesting exhibition displaying the best photos made by the Hungarian Olympic Committee at the Paris Olympics. Both events will be attended by Olympic good medallist fencer Máté Koch, who is a TF student.

The official opening of the conference will take place at the NEKA’s Balatonboglár base on 14 October. It will feature round-table discussions and sport specific analyses. Part of the conference is the 2nd Biomechanics Symposium that will be held at TF’s campus in Budapest on 15 and 16 October. The symposium will be attended by renowned international specialists and guest lecturers. 

The NETRISK Sport and Innovation Conference will continue at TF’s campus on 17 October. Guest lecturers will include Professor Ansgar Thiel, the new Rector of one of Europe's most famous sports universities, the Deutsche Sporthochschule in Cologne, and Dr Balázs Fürjes, member of the International Olympic Committee, who will give a presentation in the morning plenary session.

The conference will be attended by famous Hungarian Olympic gold and silver medallist elite athletes such as fencer Máté Koch and Krisztián Rabb (both study at TF), TF student and swimmer Nándor Németh, who achieved 4th place at the Paris Olympics, two-time Olympic gold medallist Luca Ekler, supervisor of the Inclusive Sports Education Specialization at TF and Olympic gold medallist pentathlonist Michelle Gulyás. Renowned sport experts and coaches will also be present at the conference.

The conference will be held in Hungarian, however, some lectures and sessions will be in English (see below).
