Students of the Hungarian University of Sports Science (TF) have made a significant contribution to Hungary’s successful performance at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The Paris Olympics ended on Sunday, with the Hungarian delegation finishing 14th in the medal table winning six gold, seven silver and six bronze medals. In the 21st century, the only time Hungary has won more medals than this was in Tokyo in 2021.
It is a great pleasure and pride for us that the students of the Hungarian University of Sports Science (TF) have also contributed to this success by winning a total of six medals for Hungary.
Máté Koch (BA Coach) won a gold medal as a member of the men's epee team, while Krisztián Rabb (BA Coach) won a silver medal in the men’s sabre team event. Alida Dóra Gazsó (BA Coach) finished second in the women’s K-2 500 metres and in the women’s K-4 500 metres as well. Noémi Pupp (BA Coach) won two bronze medals in the women’s K-2 500 metres and in the women’s K-4 500 metres, respectively.
As regards other TF students’ memorable performance, swimmer Nándor Németh (BA Coach) finished 4th in the men’s 100 metre freestyle event, while Blanka Guzi (BSc Sport and Recreation) took the 4th place in the women’s pentathlon competition. Water polo player Rita Keszthelyi-Nagy (BSc Sport and Recreation) finished 5th as a member of the Hungary team.
Although Xénia Krizsán's is currently not attending TF, as she already passed her state exams in June, her performance is also noteworthy, as she finished seventh in the women’s heptathlon competition with a great performance, finishing 7th, which is her best result in the three Olympics she has participated in.
