Between 2 and 6 October, 2023, 15 coaching major students and 4 instructors of the Sepsiszentgyörgy Faculty of Sapientia University visited our university.
The group was accompanied by Dr Tamás Freyer, the program manager of the joint coaching training of Sapientia University and the Hungarian University Sports Science. The five-day visit included professional and cultural programs.
On Tuesday, the students visited the HUSS campus, where DR Csaba Ökrös, Vice-Rector of General Affairs welcomed the group and introduced the university. Dr habil Judit Kádár, director of international relations, outlined the international mobility opportunities and collaborations, while Zsombor Gaál, the Erasmus coordinator of HUSS presented the campus and the university sports center.
In the afternoon, the group visited the MTK football academy, where general manager Zoltán Forrás and professional director Zsolt Székely welcomed them and briefly introduced academy and its operation. Then Regő Zsombori, head of the sports physiology group, presented the performance diagnostic procedures used there, and then they were able to watch a training session.
On Wednesday, judo theoretical and practical day was held by Dr Endre Németh, Head of the Combat Sports Department, followed by a sightseeing tour of Budapest lead by Györgyi Koppa, HUSS international relations coordinator.
On the final day of the visit, the guests were able to participate in the Sports and Innovation Conference, where they could follow the plenary lectures of international sports professionals, numerous professional sectional meetings and exhibitions.
In summary, the visit of the Transylvanian coach training group was extremely successful, regarding both the professional and the team-building benefits.
