The World Muaythai Federation (WMF) and the Hungarian University of Sports Science (HUSS) have agreed to carry out a significant technical cooperation in the future.
The World Muaythai Championships were held in Bangkok from 3 to 13 May, 2023. Dr Csaba Ökrös, Vice-Rector General of the university and Dénes Lukács, who is responsible for sports federation relations, were also invited to attend the event.
Dr Ökrös and Mr. Lukács spent three days at the venue of the world event, where they held advanced talks with representatives of the international federation.
It was agreed that as of September 2023, Thai boxing will be included in the university’s BA Sport Coaching Program launched last September. WMF President assured the HUSS representatives that the member countries of the federation would be widely informed about the agreement.
It was also agreed that the WMF would delegate instructors for the training.
