HUSS students win medals at the Carpathian Basin University Cup

Students of the Hungarian University of Sports Science (HUSS) won several medals at the Carpathian Basin University Cup, which is one of the most important university recreational sports events in the region.

The event was held between 2 and 4 March, 2023, attended by 1500 students from universities in Hungary and four neighbouring countries.

Participants competed in nine sports: futsal, basketball, volleyball, alumni football, table tennis, football, chess and darts. HUSS students performed very well at the competition winning a number of gold and silver medals.

Our men's volleyball and women's basketball teams finished in first place in the tournament, which involved several university teams, while our men's basketball players took second place. Máté Suscsák proved to be the top goal scorer of the men's futsal tournament, Máté Balázs was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the volleyball tournament, while Anette Kenyeres was named MVP of the women's basketball tournament. To top it all off, Dávid Keresztesi also won an award for scoring the most points at the men's basketball tournament.
