A study exploring physical education teachers’ motivational strategies has been published in European Physical Education Review (EPER), one of the most prestigious international journals in the field of educational sciences. The publication is the result of a joint research project between the world-renowned Loughborough University and the Hungarian University of Sports Science (HUSS).
The international sport pedagogy study was conducted with the participation of Hungarian researchers, including several from HUSS, and appeared recently in the highly ranked, D1-category journal EPER. The authors are Ágnes Csordás-Makszin (HUSS), Christopher M. Spray, Tamás Berki, Pál Hamar (HUSS), István Karsai, and István Soós (HUSS).
The research focused on the motivational strategies of PE teachers, with special attention to the importance of supporting students’ autonomy and addressing key psychological needs during PE classes. Data collection was carried out among Hungarian-speaking PE teachers in four Central European countries, including Hungary.
The study’s findings not only contribute to the development of teaching practices, but also strengthen international scientific dialogue in the field of sport pedagogy.
