Dr Gergely Géczi, research fellow at the Research Centre for Sport Economics and Decision Sciences, and Krisztina Égi project coordinator, representatives of the Hungarian University of Sports Science (HUSS), promoted the European Association for Sport Management (EASM) conference o be held at HUSS this September at the SMICEE conference held in Slovakia.
The 2025 international conference titled Sports Management in Central & Eastern Europe (SMICEE) was held in Rajecké Teplice, near Žilina, Slovakia between April 7 and 9. Representing the Hungarian University of Sports Science (HUSS), Dr Gergely Géczi, research fellow at the Research Centre for Sport Economics and Decision Sciences, and Krisztina Égi, project coordinator, attended the event.
Gergely Géczi and Krisztina Égi also acted as ambassadors at the event, as the conference organizers provided an opportunity for HUSS representatives to promote the upcoming European Association for Sport Management (EASM) conference taking place this September at HUSS through a 15-minute presentation.
"During the presentation, we spoke about EASM, Budapest, and the conference venue, followed by key dates and participation fees for the EASM 2025 conference. We also presented the main themes of the event and drew the attention of the 40-member audience to the thematic forum section, which focuses specifically on sport management in Central and Eastern Europe. Additionally, we highlighted scholarship opportunities and the awards to be presented at the conference. Prior to the presentation, we had the chance to distribute flyers to the participants, ensuring that they received comprehensive information about the EASM 2025 conference. The president of EASM, Prof. Dr. Vassil Girginov, was also present at the event. He gave positive feedback on our presentation and even mentioned in his own speech afterwards that the organization of the EASM 2025 conference is of exceptionally high quality”, Dr Gergely Géczi reported.
