The European Figure Skating and Ice Dance Championships in Tallinn continued today with the men's short program. Aleksandr Vlasenko, a 20-year-old student of the Hungarian University of Sports Science (TF), fought his way into the final with an excellent program and we can cheer him on again on Saturday.
In his short program, choreographed by Ádám Sólya, Aleksandr beautifully performed the opening Triple Axel and the Triple Flip - Triple Toeloop jump combination. He gave up a little in the triple Lutz and finished 22nd overall with 67.25 points.
“I am very happy that I ran a good short again. I had one week to go after the Winter University Games, where I finished 11th. It is not easy to perform well at a major world competition right after a successful competition. I am glad that my jumps went well today, and to my great joy, the judges rated my steps as the highest level 4 for the first time. This is the third year I have qualified for the freestyle competition,” Aleksandr said happily after the competition.
The men’s freestyle competition will take place on Saturday, February 1st, where we can cheer for Sasha at 6:23 p.m.
