On Thursday, the Hungarian University of Sports Science (TF) renewed the cooperation agreement concluded in the "Semmelweis" times with one of the most important sports institutions in the world, the Shanghai Sports University.
On November 28, the Hungarian University of Sports Science (TF) and the Shanghai Sports University signed a cooperation agreement of historic significance, which will partially influence the future effectiveness of the two institutions.
This contract had already been signed by the two institutions when TF was still operating as the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports Sciences under the governance of Semmelweis University. The recently renewed agreement was signed by TF’s Rector Professor Tamás Sterbenz, who already discussed the details of the agreement with representatives of the Shanghai Sports University during his trip to China in October.
In addition to Tamás Sterbenz, our institution was represented at the event by Denissza Blanár, Head of the International Relations Office and International Coordinator Gábor Csele, and TF doctorate student Grace Zhang Qingyuan was also present.
The Chinese delegation included Mao Lijuan, President of the Shanghai Univeristy of Sport, Lu Wenyun, Head of Strategic Planning, Lu Qichen, Head of Human Resources, Dean Yin Qin from the School of Physical Education, and Zhang Zhe, Interim Head of International Affairs.
The agreement covers, among other things, the exchange of staff and students between the two institutions, participation in joint research projects, joint curriculum development and cultural exchange.
During the meeting, President Mao Lijuan remarked that although Hungary is a small country, its sports performance is admirable. In response, Tamás Sterbenz said that he was impressed by the Shanghai Sports University's table tennis academy which they would also like to implement in Hungary in fencing or judo. Mao Lijuan added that they would be happy to help in the localization of the artificial intelligence-based sports performance and data analysis system in Hungary.
