ReC Bioengineering acts as a sponsor of the Biomechanics Symposium

ReC Bioengineering Laboratories (ReC), a research partner of the Hungarian University of Sports Science, does not only present itself at the “2nd Biomechanics in Sport and Ageing Symposium: Artificial Intelligence”, but it also acts as a sponsor of the scientific event.

The „2nd Biomechanics in Sport and Ageing Symposium: Artificial Intelligence” is held at the Hungarian University of Sports Science (TF) on 15 and 16 October. One of the sponsors and exhibitors of the event is ReC Bioengineering Laboratories (ReC) located in Turin, Italy.

ReC Bioengineering Laboratories (ReC) is an Italian spin-off company founded in a bit more than a year ago. The CEO of the company is Giacinto Luigi Cerone, assistant professor at the Turin Polytechnic University, and the founder is Professor Alberto Botter, who also works at the Turin Polytechnic University.

ReC relies on more than 30 years’ of experience in the laboratory for engineering in the neuromuscular system. The company develops methodology and technology in order to better study and analyse the neuromuscular system from both peripheral and central point of view.

The company’s first and very significant product is MEACS, which is ReC’s first CE-marked medical device: the world’s most miniaturized, modular, and wireless HD-sEMG acquisition system for studying central and peripheral properties of the neuromuscular system in various contexts such as dynamic conditions.

“This is why we act as sponsors of the symposium”, explains Giacinto Luigi Cerone. “The Hungarian University of Sports Science has been a research partner of our company in the field of biomechanics and sport for two years now. Our technology could be useful to be applied in sport in biomechanics so that is why we were invited to the event by Dr András Hegyi, research fellow at the Department of Kinesiology of the Hungarian University of Sports Science.”

Giacinto Luigi Cerone also said that the mission of the company is to provide technologies to all the people who are interested at industrial level in the possibility to reproduce technology.

ReC has a strong research-oriented focus, grounding its activity on the leading technological and scientific experience of the Laboratory for Engineering of the Neuromuscular System (LISiN).

“We have some ongoing projects with the Hungarian University of Sports Science, we perform acquisitions, we have applied for funding together and we also exchange students. We have also organised a BIP course and were involved in Erasmus+ initiatives”, points out Alberto Botter.

ReC, whose partners and customers are 90% from abroad, also financed other international scientific events such as the International Society of Electrophysiology & Kinesiology’s (ISEK) conference held in Japan in June 2024, and it also plans to sponsor another event to be held in Canada in November.

The company intends to continue to popularise its products and inventions in the next five years, and it also plans to develop additional tools and technologies.
