TF students can once again enrol in Hungary's first higher education-level startup course in Neptun, which introduces them to the world of innovation and entrepreneurship, starting this semester in English.
The Hungarian Startup University Program was launched in 2020 with the aim of introducing Hungarian students to a modern entrepreneurial approach and to introduce them to the world of innovation and startups. The programme, organised by the National Innovation Agency, makes the curricula and exercises available through an online platform (desktop and mobile app), and the best teams are presented through DemoDays.
Our university has been participating in the programme since 2021 and its popularity among TF students has been unbroken since then.
As in the past, you can complete the course exclusively online (in your own e-learning system) in the first semester of the 2024/2025 academic year, and then in the second semester you can work on your own start-up idea with your teammates as a scholarship holder, supported by a mentor.
Programme requirements:
First semester of the programme: in the first semester, students will work independently, following the instructions published on the HSUP e-learning platform and those given by the university's course tutors.
The first semester of the HSUP consists of 7 modules covering the following topics:
1. Introduction to the startup world
2. idea generation
3. market research and product development
4. marketing funds (4P), pitch
5. sales strategy, business models
6. financial planning
7. legal and human resource management basics
Pre-study requirements: active students enrolled in the course, regardless of the level of study and the work schedule - BSc, MSc, MSc, PhD, full-time, evening, correspondence.
One of the main objectives of the programme is to stimulate students' interest in the world of innovation and start-ups, so it is not required that students have an entrepreneurial idea at the start of the programme, as they can develop their ideas during the course or join other HSUP students' ideas.
Output requirements: successful completion of the 7 final module exams and a one-pager (presentation of an innovative idea on one page according to pre-defined criteria). After evaluation of the one-pagers submitted, the university's innovation panel will announce a winner.
