Krisztofer Mészáros does well at his first Olympics Games

Hungarian gymnast Krisztofer Mészáros, who currently attends the BA coaching course of the Hungarian University of Sports Science (TF), has reached the 9th place in the men’s individual all-around individual competition at the 2024 Paris Olympics, which makes him the second Hungarian gymnast who managed to reach Top 10 at the Olympics in the all-around event.

TF student and gymnast Krisztofer Mészáros, who was elected Gymnast of the Year three times in a row in 2021, 2022 and 2023, is going to start his third year at the BA coaching programme at the Hungarian University of Sports Science (TF).

He has just begun his holidays after the Olympic Games, and there's plenty for Christofer to do. Following a hard season, the gymnast achieved a ninth place in the men's individual all-around competition at the Paris Olympic Games.

By doing this, he has made Hungarian sports history, as he managed to repeat the performance of Hungarian gymnast Szilveszter Csollány, who also came 9th at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics.

Krisztofer is careful to remain mentally balanced after the tiring Olympics.

"My sports psychologists say that success should be treated in the same way as failure. Many athletes can even become depressed after a major success, but I didn't feel that at all. I had my family and friends with me and I've been seeing them recently, so I feel great."

The European silver and bronze medallist in floor will rest until 26 August, when he will continue his training not only in the gym but also at the “uni”. He is now in his third year of her BA coaching course.

"My experience with the training is very pleasant. My teachers and the university management are extremely helpful. I can only encourage national elite athletes to apply to TF, because it is a great way to combine sport and study. I am not sure that I will become a coach when I finish my sporting career, I would also like to do another degree after university."

Krisztofer wants to win a medal at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

"I need to continue training as I have been doing and I will also need the support I have received from the federation, my club, my dieticians, my physiotherapists, my masseurs and my sports psychologists. It's also important to stay healthy, to perform stronger exercises and to collect medals at the World and European Championships, which will help me get my name better known among judges."
