Commemoration held for Róbert Frenkl

Former TF teacher, the internationally renowned Prof. Róbert Frenkl was commemorated at the Hungarian University of Sports Science (TF) recently.

A group consisting of 30 people gathered at the Department of Health Sciences and Sport Medicine at the Hungarian University of Sports Science (TF) on Friday 24 May to commemorate the late TF teacher and head of department Prof. Frenkl Róbert, who was born 90 years ago.

He was a professor at TF for four decades and acted as a Head of the Department of Health Sciences and Sport Medicine for thirty years. Besides teaching at TF, he also held a number of positions both in Hungary and abroad.

He was Editor-in-Chief of The World of Sports Medicine and Lege Artis Medicinae, Chairman of the European Protestant Hungarian Free University Association and played a key role in the foundation of the European University Sports Association (EUSA).

Speeches were delivered by a number of sport and university personalities such as TF’s Vice Rector for Innovation and Science Professor Zsolt Radák, TF’s Head of the Department of Health Sciences and Sport Medicine Professor Miklós Tóth, TF’s Emeritus Professor Gábor Pavlik and Hungarian Olympic Committee’s Secretary General László Fábián.
