The Olympic Festival of Street Sports invites volunteers

The best in skateboarding, sport climbing, BMX freestyle and breaking will compete at the Budapest leg of the Olympic Qualification Series, where volunteers can apply.

The event, which promises to be exciting in all aspects, will be held on 20-23 June at the Ludovika Campus after the Shanghai round - and volunteers can apply by 30 April.

The Olympic Qualification Series promises to be special, spectacular and unique, and a must-attend event. And it's not just as a spectator. Prospective volunteers will be able to get 'up close and personal' with some of the world's best athletes, getting a behind-the-scenes look at the event. There's something for everyone, with almost 20 functional areas for volunteers to take on during the preparatory days from 16-19 June and throughout the competition.

From arriving at the airport, to briefing spectators and coordinating athletes on site, volunteers can get involved in one of the most exciting sporting events of the year, gaining experience and building lifelong professional relationships. They can also follow the 464 athletes competing for Olympic quotas up close, with more than 150 of them securing their place at the Games.

The Olympic Qualification Series will see four Hungarian athletes in action: Zoltán Kempf (Kempf Zozo) will represent Hungary in BMX freestyle, Csenge Szarvák (B-Girl Csenge) and Noris Lobontiu Menotti (Noris by Nature) will strengthen the Hungarian breaking community, and in sport climbing, Sebestyén Nimród Tusnády will show where he stands compared to the international leaders.

The Urban Festival, the accompanying event to the Olympic event, will showcase sport-related music genres such as hip-hop, rock and surf-punk on stage, including a DJ battle and a beatbox show.

Spectators will be able to try their hand at the four sports mentioned above, as the national sports federations will be offering training, equipment trials, advice and other activities, and all participants are welcome, regardless of gender, skill level or age. In addition, many other related sports will also be presented and tried out. Volunteers are also expected to help in the smooth running of the accompanying sports programmes.

The Olympic Qualification Series is organised by the National Event Organisation Agency in cooperation with the Hungarian Olympic Committee and the State Secretariat for Sport of the Ministry of Defence, the International Olympic Committee and national sports federations.

Volunteers are asked to commit to a minimum of 4 shifts, the minimum age to apply is 16 years. Application details are available on the Olympic Qualification Series website: https://oqs.volhub.hu
