Dr Yvette Budainé Csepela, Associate Professor of the Department of Pedagogy at the Hungarian University of Sports Science (HUSS) visited the Faculty of Sports Sciences at Gedik University in Istanbul.
Yücel Kamar, Erasmus lecturer, accompanied the teacher to the university. During the visit, our lecturer took part in practical lessons and gained insight into the work of the theoretical departments.
Our colleague first had a short meeting with Dr Nerma Zaimovic, Associate Professor at the Kartal Campus, and then met Professor Seydi Ahmet Ağaoğlu, Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport Sciences at the Çamlık Campus, Professor Sefer Ada, Head of the Department of Physical Education and Sport Education, Dr Seyed Houtan Shahidi and Dr Fahimeh Hassani, Associate Professors.
During the visit, the possibilities of cooperation were discussed, in particular with regard to joint publications, research areas, participation in conferences as well as possible bilateral teaching and student exchange programmes.
By sharing professional experience and research results, HUSS and Gedik University could create new opportunities for the training of physical education teachers and coaches in both institutions.
The visit is of particular significance as the two countries will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Republic of Turkey and the establishment of Hungarian-Turkish diplomatic relations with the Hungarian-Turkish Cultural Year which will start on the 18th of December 2023 and will last for a full year in both countries.
