Miklós Bánhidi and HUSS students pay visit to China and Thailand

Associate Professor of the Department of Recreation at the Hungarian University of Sports Science (HUSS) Dr Miklós Bánhidi and students of the university travelled to the Far East twice in a month.

On 11 November 2023, Associate Professor of the Department of Recreation at HUSS Dr Miklós Bánhidi held a plenary lecture at the International Recreation and Sports Forum organised by Zhejiang University in China. At the event he presented the recreational development strategies of European cities.

In his presentation, he highlighted the Hungarian capital’s Budapest's long-term plans, which include a number of innovation plans. At the same time, he criticised the fact that these do not always take into account the population’s expectations regarding life quality.

He also emphasised that the university is also playing an important role in the development of the citizens’ sport and physical activity, and he hopes that more people will accept our invitation to our next innovation conference.

At the end of November, members of a folk dance group made up of the MA undergraduate students of the Recreation Department participated in an international festival coordinated by Surindra Rajabhat University in Thailand with great success.

The group led by Dr Bánhidi had the opportunity to learn about the local way of life, Buddhist culture and the unique elephant world while making many international friendships. The members of the group returned home with experiences of a lifetime and are ready to return next year.
