At the conference, he will speak on the importance of science-based sports rehabilitation with a focus on the preservation of young talents.

Perhaps few know but it's worth noting that the recently appointed Research Professor of the Department of Kinesiology at HUSS taught for 11 years at the University of Groningen which is 66th in the world for its academic ranking of universities.

On the opening day of the event, the renowned expert will give a presentation titled "From Basic Research to Innovative Sports Rehabilitation" in the Athens lecture hall from 10:45 to 11:15 am.

"High-intensity sporting activity is often associated with injury so the topic of my lecture can be applied to both children and post-school athletes," said the professor, explaining the relevance of this lecture. “One of the most important determinants of talent is how someone can recover from an injury. Someone may run very fast, but if they are injured for six weeks afterwards, they may not be talented. Therefore it's very important to look at who is vulnerable during selection, in which evidence-based rehabilitation procedures plays a vital role."
