TE has been working together with FIBA for a long time. At the 100th anniversary of Ferenc Hepp’s birth, we have named together the auditorium of the university’s main building after the well-known Hungarian basketball diplomat.
The Research Center for Sport Economy and Decision Sciences has recently prepared two researches for FIBA Europe, one about home grown regulations and the other about the drop-out effect. We are currently working together in the EU Time-Out project in the field of dual careers.
The project of a “Regional Centre for Dual Career Politics and Advocacy” has been approved in 2015 call, project number: 517640-EPP-1-2015-2-RO-SPO-SCP and responds to one of the three EU general objectives to promote and support the good governance in sport and dual career of athletes.
DC4AC project is consistent with the efforts and concerns of the European Commission for insuring a safe future to retired athletes. This project will focus on the priority of supporting the implementation of EU policy documents in the field of Dual Career: EU Guidelines on Dual Careers of Athletes and other relevant documents such as recommendations, guidelines, policy strategies etc. (e.g. EU Physical Activity Guidelines, Principles on good governance in sport).
The project intends to help talented athletes and elite athletes reconcile their sport life with education and irrespectively with the job demands, to ease their transition from sport to the labor market and make them further contribute to society development. In order to fulfil all the above the project will try to find solutions to obtain support from the national authorities, public bodies, education providers, sport organizations, business and last but not least by the athletes themselves.
With support of the European Commission, ERASMUS+ Sport funds the consortium of 6 European counties are developing a project called “Regional Centre for Dual Career Politics and Advocacy - DC4AC”.
We would like to invite all sport stakeholders in Europe to support us in the development of “Regional Centre for Dual Career Politics and Advocacy” project.

The International Relations Center (IRC) facilitates all the mobility activities, institutional partnerships, projects and training programs of the students, faculty and international alumni of the HUSS community. The IRC serves the internationalization of HUSS, all the related processes. It provides mobility services for incoming international and Hungarian students and faculty, and promotes and represents HUSS in the international arena, support English language educational program development and help research-based international collaborations as well. International short term trainings, like International Coaching Course, are also run under IRC supervision. IRC serves the institutional internationalization strategy of the Hungarian University of Sports Science and its staff work for the high quality education, research and foreign learning & working experience opportunities of HUSS students, educators and researchers. As for international relations and mobility beyond the traditional Erasmus+ program, the global network of HUSS is expanding in its numbers.
The quality of partnerships that provide the framework for our international academic activities is also improving. In Asia and in North America, HUSS has also expanded the number of institutional partners with Higher Eductaion Institutions providing quality education and research. Both our students and those of our strategic partners can study overseas, participating in the International Credit Mobility (ICM) plan. Our aim is to offer a much larger choice for our students to be able to study abroad, thus exploiting all the academic and intercultural opportunities that such an adventure can offer. Besides, our faculty also serves foreign partners under ICM and invites American, Canadian and Taiwanese educators, researchers and staff members to visit Budapest and work at HUSS.
Both HUSS faculty and students can all apply for numerous mobility grants that facilitate their trips to various partner institutions, and we also welcome applicants from those institutions who wish to come and join HUSS for educational and sports programs. As for bilateral agreements, HUSS has got great partners in quite a number of countries all over the world, either in research or training focused collaboration schemes. However, currently we are working predominantly on quality strategic partnerships, where due attention is paid to our partners and the services entailed. We wish to expand our ICM network and also to facilitate new schemes of mobility, research collaboration, knowledge transfer and exchange of good practices as well. We believe in the power of strategic institutional partnerships. Furthermore, we take pride in our alumni and the knowhow our faculty stands for and shares in Hungary as well as abroad.
We are also proud of the large family of our international students and alumni coming from every country in the world. Our international students like to participate in cultural and sport events of the University, and they also join the HUSS community at the events when we celebrate our national holidays. The international students can represent HUSS at various national championships, while they also take pride in their home culture and have opportunities to share that with fellow students in Budapest.
