Applications for EKÖP-26 scholarship are open

A new scholarship programme was launched in 2026 to support professional excellence among higher education students, young researchers, and faculty members. Applications must be submitted by June 15.

The scholarship programme announced in 2026 aims to support the excellence of students, researchers, and young faculty members in higher education. The initiative provides financial assistance to talented applicants who are enrolled in bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral programmes, or who, as young faculty members or researchers, are engaged in outstanding research and creative activities at their higher education institutions.

The scholarship is awarded through an application process, and the funds are deposited directly into the bank account provided by the applicant. The scholarship amount varies by level of study:

For students in bachelor’s programmes: 125,000 HUF/month
For students in master’s programmes: 150,000 HUF/month
For students in doctoral programmes: 200,000 HUF/month
For young faculty members and researchers: 250,000 HUF/month

The programme offers three different fellowship periods:

5-month fellowship: September 1, 2026 – January 31, 2027
10-month fellowship: September 1, 2026 – June 30, 2027
12-month grant: September 1, 2026 – August 31, 2027

Applications may be submitted between May 4 and June 15, 2026. The scholarship is an individual grant, so applications may only be submitted by individuals.
