On April 15, the spring course of the International Coaching Course (ICC) at Hungarian University of Sports Science (HUSS) officially began with a ceremonial opening. The organizers made the event memorable with a quiz game and a dinner featuring international cuisine.
The program, which has a history of more than 50 years, is supported by the International Olympic Committee’s Olympic Solidarity Program, and it can rightly be considered the most well-known international certification course offered by HUSS.
A special feature of this year’s course is that 19 students from 16 different countries have begun their intensive studies at the university. The participants are studying in fields such as handball, wrestling, basketball, and general coaching.
The ceremonial opening was followed by a friendly reception, where international coordinator Dr Emese Koós welcomed the participants. After the official program, a Kahoot quiz took place, during which students answered questions about Hungary. The winner of the game received a HUSS hoodie.
The evening’s culinary experience was provided by a three-course international dinner, featuring beef soup, Mediterranean chicken, and vegan chili sin carne.
The opening not only marked the start of the professional program but also served to build community and present Hungarian culture in an engaging way. All of this helps international students at HUSS feel at home in Budapest in the coming weeks.
