Between 7–8 February 2026, Tatabánya hosted one of the highlighted stages of the Davis Cup, an event that stood out not only in terms of sporting excellence but also from an organizational perspective. The volunteer program of the event was implemented under the leadership of the Volunteer and Sustainability Office of the Hungarian University of Sports Science (HUSS – VolHUB).
More than 70 volunteers contributed to the successful delivery of the event. Through their dedication, enthusiasm, and continuous presence, they played a key role in ensuring that this international-level sporting event was realized at a truly world-class standard.
The work of the volunteers began during the pre-competition training days, between 2–6 February. Their responsibilities included court maintenance, preparation of equipment required for training sessions, and supporting the organizers during the preparations for the competition days.
During the match days on 7–8 February, the volunteers carried out a wide range of tasks. They were involved in ticket handling for spectators, operating cloakrooms serving several thousand guests, providing information to VIP guests and broadcast personnel, and preparing the tennis courts for matches. Their work was indispensable to the smooth operation of the event and to ensuring a positive spectator experience.
The program was further enriched by the fact that volunteers arrived from many parts of the country, and even from abroad, clearly demonstrating the appeal and professional recognition of both the Davis Cup and the volunteer program of the Hungarian University of Sports Science.
The committed work of the volunteers contributed significantly to the successful delivery of this prestigious international sporting event at a high professional and organizational standard. The Volunteer and Sustainability Office of the Hungarian University of Sports Science is proud to have been part of this success and remains committed to the implementation of value-creating volunteer programs.
