ICC’s Fall Semester Kicked Off with Dance and Goulash Soup

The international students admitted to the fall semester of the International Coaching Course (ICC) at the Hungarian University of Sports Science (HUSS) were welcomed with a traditional Hungarian opening dinner, wine tasting, and folk dance party.

The fall semester of HUSS’s most well-known international programme, the International Coaching Course (ICC), supported by the International Olympic Committee’s (IOC) Olympic Solidarity Programme and boasting a history of over 50 years, began on Thursday with excellent, guest-friendly events.

The 11-week course, justly popular among international students, is starting with 21 participants from nine different countries. The event was opened by Nóra Széles, coordinator of international education, followed by a welcome from Denissza Blanár, Director of the International Relations Centre. She greeted ICC students and Hungarian instructors, as well as other international students enrolled in HUSS’s full-time programmes and Erasmus students.

Denissza Blanár emphasized the great value of the opportunity for HUSS students to earn an internationally recognized diploma at HUSS, all supported by the IOC’s Olympic Solidarity Programme.

In addition to the delicious traditional Hungarian dinner, ICC students, who had been in Hungary, in Budapest, for two weeks already, were treated to a Hungary-themed quiz.

The evening concluded with a wine tasting and a folk dance event, during which students learned dances from Transylvania, Upper Hungary (Felvidék), and Hungary. International educators participating in the International Days also joined the event.
