Greeting for the 25th International Student Science Conference (ISSC)

sterbenz tamasIt is a true honor to welcome you to the 25th International Student Science Conference, a gathering that brings together emerging thinkers who are united by their passion for discovery. This anniversary offers a unique moment to reflect not on the past itself, but on the remarkable energy and ambition that young researchers continue to contribute to the scientific world.

For our university, hosting this conference is a valued opportunity to support genuine scientific excellence. The ISSC serves as a true academic competition, where students can demonstrate the strength of their research and the clarity of their scientific thinking. It is a setting in which talent is challenged, achievements are recognized

As you participate in presentations, discussions, and informal exchanges, I invite you to embrace the spirit of openness that defines this event. The conversations you begin here—whether sparked by a research result, a shared interest, or a spontaneous idea—may evolve into collaborations that shape your academic path for years to come.

Above all, the ISSC is an affirmation of confidence in the next generation of scientists. Your dedication demonstrates that progress does not rely solely on resources or institutions, but on the determination of individuals who believe in the value of understanding the world more deeply.

I wish each of you an inspiring and rewarding experience. May this conference provide not only insight and motivation, but also the sense of belonging that comes from being part of a global community committed to knowledge and discovery.

Prof. Dr. Tamás Sterbenz, rector

radak zsoltDear Distinguished Participant,

more than 50 years ago, in what was then a revolutionary initiative—and still an extraordinary one even by today’s standards—the University of Physical Education organized the first international scientific student conference. It created an opportunity for the exchange of scientific knowledge in English, the language of science, among dedicated students from various laboratories, universities, and countries. It was a marvel then, and it remains a remarkable opportunity today.

Students have come here to the University from nearly every European country, as well as from the USA, Canada, China, Japan, Taiwan, Africa, and the Middle East—and I sincerely hope they will continue to do so. Here, students have exchanged ideas, data, and hypotheses, in English that ranged from hesitant to fluent, and have carried home unforgettable memories of the closing party, the Széchenyi Thermal Bath, or a night cruise on the Danube through the beautiful city of Budapest.

The International Student Scientific Conference is not only an intellectual and academic experience and an exceptional opportunity for expanding knowledge, practicing presentations, and preparing for lifelong scientific thinking, but also an emotional experience and a wonderful chance to make new friends. Who could wish for more—and why would anyone want to miss it?

With regards,

Prof. Dr. Zsolt Radák, vice-rector for science and innovation

kneffel zsuzsannaDear Students, Esteemed Colleagues, and Distinguished Guests,

it is with great pleasure and pride that we welcome you to the 25th International Student Science Conference (ISSC), organized by the Hungarian University of Sports Science (HUSS). This milestone marks a quarter of a century of dedication to fostering research excellence, scientific curiosity, and international collaboration among young scholars.

In every second year, the HUSS provides a platform for students worlwide to present their research findings, develop their scientific communication skills, and participate in inspiring discussions with peers and senior researchers. This 25th edition celebrates not only the continuity of these academic efforts but also the resilience of scientific dialogue.  We strongly believe that scientific growth flourishes through exchange, collaboration, and the sharing of ideas across cultures and disciplines.
